In today’s post, I’m sharing with you 5 daily self-confidence habits I suggest you implement into your life to start building your confidence and self-esteem. I’m sharing with you some habits to shift your mindset to start thinking of yourself as a confident person, as well as how to start taking confident actions in your daily life.
Daily self-confidence habits
#1 visualize yourself as a self-confident person

The first thing you need to do when you want to increase your confidence and develop self-confidence habits is to gain clarity on HOW exactly the version of yourself who IS confident acts, thinks and talks.
Therefore, the first habit you need to implement is to start visualizing yourself as a confident person.
Instead of having the vision of someone else who is confident and trying to copy or mimic their behavior, you need to develop your own self-confidence. Define what confidence means to you. See yourself every day as someone who radiates confidence when you talk to your boss, your colleagues, or to a new group of people.
The best time to visualize is right when you wake up or right before you fall asleep. That’s when it’s easiest to influence our brain because our brainwaves move to alpha state.

#2 journal to step into the self-confident version of yourself

The next one of the self-confidence habits I recommend developing is to get rid of the story that you’re just too shy or that you’re just not good enough. Confidence can’t coexist together with a feeling of unworthiness. So, the second habit to form is rewriting your story, or, in this case, journaling.
For me, this is a daily habit, but it’s still powerful even if you do it, for example, every Sunday to check in with yourself. What you’ll need to do is to start asking yourself some powerful questions to get to the root of WHY you’re not feeling confident.

Ask yourself what emotions you experience in situations when you’d rather feel confident.
How does the lack of confidence affect your results in life?
What exactly makes you feel insecure or not good enough?
When did you start to feel unworthy and not good enough?
Ask yourself those kinds of questions to become aware of what’s stopping you to be confident and to rewrite those limiting beliefs.

When you get to the root of how exactly is your self-confidence holding you back, you can start to rewrite your story. Therefore, the third one of the self-confidence habits to develop is to use affirmations. I don’t suggest you instantly start saying affirmations like ‘’I am the most confident person I know,’’ or ‘’People are amazed by how confident I am.’’ Instead, I recommend taking small steps.
For example, I believe that affirmation like ‘’My confidence is increasing every day’’ would be much more effective than immediately trying to convince yourself that you’re the most confident person ever.
The key is to use positive affirmations that show progress and that encourage you to keep taking action.
I’m a big fan of affirmations and training my mind to make me feel empowered. I even start every day by saying that the day is going to be fantastic.
I encourage you to look at affirmations as decisions. Decide that your confidence is increasing. Decide that every day you’re one step closer to the version of yourself who is content and in love with who she is.
Affirmations for self-confidence:
I choose to believe in myself and my abilities.
I have enough self-confidence to take the next step.
Being confident is getting easier and easier for me.
I choose to accept myself for who I am.
I choose to feel proud of myself for how far I’ve come.

#4 keep a list of small wins to increase self-confidence when you feel low
“As long as you look for someone else to validate who you are by seeking their approval, you are setting yourself up for disaster. You have to be whole and complete in yourself. No one can give you that. You have to know who you are – what others say is irrelevant.”

The next one of the self-confidence habits is to create a list of small wins. I suggest you start doing this one right now. You can easily create a new note on your phone. Give it some powerful title, a crown emoji, and start listing all your accomplishments.
You can add things to that list each day. Each time you do something that requires confidence, add it to your list. After a while, you’ll realize that you’ve actually been acting confident, which will obviously make you a more confident person in your daily life and your everyday interactions with people. And that’s the key to building self-confidence. Taking small steps each day that make you feel like the person you want to be.

#5 one of the main self-confidence habits to go from mindset work into action: challenging yourself

And the last habit for self-confidence is to try something that challenges you to step outside of your comfort zone and step into the confident version of yourself.
If you’re feeling extra inspired to be confident or if you feel really desperate when you look back and realize how many opportunities you missed because of your lack of confidence, you might want to schedule something new to do every day.
Alternatively, you can implement this habit as a weekly thing. For instance, if you know that you’re going out with your friends this weekend, give yourself a challenge that requires confidence. It doesn’t have to be something huge. Just something that pulls you out of your usual comfort zone that you can add to your list of small wins when you come back home.
How I implemented this into my life recently is that I hired a professional photographer on my trip to Rome. I’m used to being behind the camera and that’s where I feel comfortable and safe. So this time, I decided to hire a complete stranger to photograph me. And it was amazing. I also learned a few interesting facts about Rome and met some new people.
So schedule something new for yourself this week and see how it goes.
